How Metal Carports & Buildings Works

4-Part Process To Building Your Custom Steel Structure

Part I: Design

Submit a request with your building details via our “Contact Us” page. Based on the specifications you provide, we will create a 3D design. Once completed, we will review with you and make any necessary changes.

Part II: Order

Once you have decided on a high quality custom metal structure, we will provide a final quote and walk you through the next steps.

Part III: Payment

We accept all major credit cards or you can pay by cash. A deposit is due at the time of your order, and the remaining balance will be due at the time of installation.

Part IV: Time to Build

Once deposit is received, we will schedule our crews to come out and install your custom metal building. Please be sure the site is level, free of debris and vegetation, and that there is enough space for the installation team to bring their vehicle/s to the installation site.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Clear the area. Remove all the vegetation from the area as you do not want anything weakening the ground around the anchors.
  2. Level the area.
  3. if installing a custom metal building on a concrete foundation, concrete needs to set for at least 72 hours.
  4. Allow enough distance for our crew members to park within 50 feet of the installation site.

We measure buildings as Width x Length x Height.  Please note that the roof of every structure is always 1′ longer than the base due to 6″ overhang on each end of the roof.

Due to the distinct laws for each County/State regarding permits, we do not keep such records on hand. Each customer is responsible to find out if they need a permit or not from their Building Department. Please visit the following link to learn more about building permits. If you do need approval, please contact us at 385-204-6609 to reschedule your delivery date after receiving your permit.

There are five methods of anchoring offered by Quality Carports, concrete bolts for when mounting to a cement pad or footers, 18″ asphalt anchors (for buildings up to 30’ wide), 30” or 48” auger mobile home anchors to tie down to dirt & a 30” rocky type anchor when the surface is rocky. We highly recommend that the proper number of anchors be purchased to certify the structure if you live in a windy area, please see our page related to wind and snow certification for more info.

When installing (1) garage door centered on the end, the building and the door’s height can be the same. If you would like to install two garage doors on the same end the wall height has to be 1’ taller than the doors (this will vary depending on the width of the building and whether the door is commercial or non-commercial.) When installing a garage door on the side the wall height must be 1’ taller than the door for noncommercial and 2’ taller for commercial doors.
